Another Tile

This one is for my nephew who recently joined Cub Scouts. I put the letters too high up so I was unable to put the frame around it, but it was a total bear to put together! I can only say I am happy to have it completed, LOL *Hugs*

Tiles

I was at a loss as to what to get all the nieces, nephews and their significant others this year, so I came up with the idea to make them all tiles with a vinyl design. I am quite tickled as to how they came out and can't wait to give them to them as well! *Hugs*

Christmas 2011

Well, I finally got around to taking some pictures of the house decorated for Christmas.  As  you can tell in the pictures, I am a snowman fanatic! I love me some snowdudes, LOL  I am going to cut out the writing at this point and let the pictures do the talking for me! *Hugs* and Merry Christmas!

It's a Peanut Christmas!

I have a family member who loves Snoopy, so I wanted to make a special card for him. I went in search of Snoopy, Woodstock and Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree SVG Files and instead came up with this! I LOVE it, LOL I found the Snoopy File at: http://coriscricut.blogspot.com/2011/05/snoopy.html and I turned it into a shaped card and added my words to the front and it was done!!!  Ok, you know I had to have a few mishaps and of course, I did, LOL I can't tell you how many times I printed the words due to the wrong size, turned the paper over and managed to print right on top of the words again, cut them out wonky and such, ran the ink on the first perfect set I had by trying to clean off some stray glue, glued my hand to the keyboard, mouse and scraps of paper, but I hung in there and I think it will truly bring a smile to his face! *Hugs* and I so hope each of you are having a super blessed holiday season thus far!!  I will post pics of the holiday decorations (snowmen) in a later post!

My Mojo's Vacation Has Ended!

Wow, am I a pathetic blogger or what?!  I have been non existent for 2 months now, how horrible is that, LOL  My mojo went on vacation and finally returned! I just hope it stays a bit longer this trip!  I did make one card in October that I failed to share- it was for my youngest son's 18th Birthday (not sure how I have an 18 yr old at 29, but must be something to do with this new math stuff, as I never could figure it out) plus one in November for my best friends's birthday! I was so excited to finish my BF's Card that I forgot to take a picture before I sealed it and then she never received it! We have no clue where it landed, so I made another and mailed it earlier this week (can't share a photo yet as she hasn't commented on receiving it yet, but I DID take the picture this time) and finally, I made a few Christmas Cards! I joined a swap in my SCAL Group and we were to make 5 cards, sign and send them to the 5 names below us on the list and receive 5 in return. I stressed over these 5 cards something awful, but the other night I was bored and decided to pull out the chalks and color the Santa's I had already printed and from there, they just sort of all came together for me and I had them finished and ready to be mailed!  Sadly, due to the fact that they were 5X5 square cards, the post office promptly returned three of  them to me the next day with a +20 cents needed stamp, LOL  So, the first card is the one I made for my son- he's an avid BMX Bike Rider so I thought the "flipping" part was ideal and he totally loved it!  The next picture is of my CD Cabinet that is on my wall- I love to decorate it for the holidays and when I saw the snowballs in the bucket, I knew I had to cut that one out, LOL Next is the Santa Cards I made for my SCAL Swap and finally, a snowman card I saw that was another "Just have to make" items- I totally love it!!!  I so hope each of you are enjoying the holiday season and finding your mojo home to spend some time in the craft room as well! *Hugs*

Twice in one Month has to be a Record!!!

For my posting that is, LOL  My son bought me a book the other day on stenciling and I have just had so much fun playing with the stencils that are inside it!  It is made for painting stencils on walls and such, but some are sized just right for card making as well.  This picture is of the first two I made- I was having such fun, as they were so easy!! I stenciled them with chalk and used my Stampin Up Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp and misted it with water before stamping it.  I was so tickled with the multicolored stamping! When it came to taking the picture, I had the problems!  Last year I bought one of those photo box things and it looks SO good sitting in the corner of my "Play Station" (my craft room's name) but hasn't done me much good at all otherwise, LOL  So, I end up taking most of my pictures with the items sitting on top of the aquarium.  The white line seen on the bottom of the cards, isn't there, I am thinking since I take most of my pictures at night, it is a glare or such from the flash or a shadow I created some how in taking the picture.  Any way, I just wanted to show you a picture of my first stenciled cards!  I am going to make a bunch of these, with other stencils as well, and add them to my piles of cards for wounded soldiers here in Augusta and surrounding areas!  *Hugs*

With Sympathy Again

Oh How I despise making Sympathy Cards, as it means someone near and dear to me is going through a horrible time.  Sadly, we have to make them all too often!  This card is on its way to a dear friend of mine who lost a loved one over the weekend.  I hope by the time she receives it (she is out of town), the shock will have lessened a bit and she can begin to go on with the fond memories of times gone by.  I cheated when I made this one, as I saw the sample card on a site (it was made without the flower only the three leaves) and just really fell in love with the simplicity of it (or so I thought it was simple)- WOW, I have never worked with so many layers before, only one time ever have I used a brad on anything and trying to find enough shades of green to match was a major chore!  But, sinus headache and all, I plugged along and was in the process of waiting on the leaves to dry and went in search of some matching brads- that is when I saw it, that beautiful crocheted flower sent to me by Angie Haviland, here is her web page if you care to view her amazing talents: http://angiehallhaviland.typepad.com/angiesartfulllife/ !  She makes the most beautiful flowers and often times, out of threads from items we would toss (edges of jeans that are raveled, she can pull those off and create a flower, shredded t-shirts and so forth), well, ages back she sent me some of her creations and I refused to use them, as they were just too pretty!  So, back to my search for the brads, I opened up one of the containers in my holder and there were my Angie Flowers!  This one had shades of green in it and I knew it was perfect for this card, as Angie is also close friends with the recipient!  It just sort of added that touch I needed!  The rest of it was just cutting and gluing- Ok, you KNOW there is a mishap in there, but I sorta hid it in the cropping of the card, LOL  The bottom layer that the flower sits on is crooked as all get out!  I don't know how I didn't see it when I placed it down, but I used my ATG to affix it and there was no removing it once it was down, LOL So, it stayed, but I am sure the one receiving it will not be phased by it as she has a heart of gold to begin with!  *Hugs*

Missing the Great Blue Sea

Oh How I SO miss the sounds of the waves crashing on shore, birds screaming, kids yelling in pleasure and all the other sounds you hear when you visit the SEA!  I haven't been this year and it is driving me batty (yeah, not a far drive, I know).  SO, I did the next best thing and created a card of the SEA!  I have already sent this to my brother and I am sure he will love it as well.  You KNOW I had to have a few mishaps along the way so I will tell you about them since I try to be honest as possible!  First off, I used the beautiful digi stamps from TLC Creations to make my card.  I printed them out on this neat "clear" paper I found in my stash, I colored them with my water color pencils, stamped my colors to make the SEA and Sand (actually, first one didn't have the sand), clouds and drew in my birds (yeah, they are a bit sea sick I think).  All went according to plans up to here!  Then I decided to use my Scotch Quick Dry Glue to adhere the digi stamps to my card stock (Coordination's Color Core) and THAT is where I hit the blip on the screen!  When the glue dried, my poor amazingly colored image drew up something awful and curled the entire card into a ball!  Ok, ask my friends in ArtHaven Creations and someone mentions trying to iron it out- GREAT IDEA my mind is thinking, so I go get the iron and decide to bypass that cute little table top ironing board I just had to have for things of this nature and I put a towel down on the stove and ironed my card- Yeah, I burned it slap up, LOL My pretty "clear" paper was now a muddy yellowish color and looked worse than horrible!  I thought about crying but figured the tears dripping on the ocean would probably cause it to run and give me another mess to clean up!  So I put it aside until way later and came back in to start from scratch!  In a matter of minutes I had the card completed and sat down to write a letter to put inside of it (heck, by now I was an expert on this card), but when I came to check to see how the glue stick (like elementary school kids use, which is really right up my alley) and I see it- my digi stamps have wrinkles in them!  But, I have just decided that they are wrinkles in time, which surely flies quickly when you are at the sea!!!
I actually have two projects to share tonight believe it or not- I made these butterflies from a file so graciously shared by Penny Duncan and I am SO in love with these!  I used normal HammerMill Transparencies to make the top layer and colored card stock for the bottom.  They are SO easy and turn out so amazing!  Sadly, this was the last of my transparency paper so I can't make any more as of yet, as I now want to make some tiny ones for placing on flowers and such!  I turned these into magnets for my mom- she is a butterfly fanatic and they are calmly resting on her fridge now!  *Hugs*

Happy Birthday Chyanne!!!!

Oh My, where DO the years go? It is hard to believe that Chyanne is 18 today and even harder to believe that Chris will be 18 three months from today as well!  As I tend to do here lately, I got a late start and waited until the last minute! Of course, I had NO clue what I was going to put on the card either. So, while browsing through digi images for another project, I found the circle with the 18 in the center- it was perfect! I printed it out on vellum and then used my Spellbinders circle to cut it out and then attached it to the spellbinders lacey circles or something similar. The lacey circle is cut out of some wrapping paper I found at the dollar store and just love it! I used some Penny Duncan Roses that were just perfect, along with some pearls and pink diamonds to spruce it up a hair. The bow (besides being lop sided and twisted) is made from plain curling ribbon I found on clearance at The Christmas Tree Store.  I DID try to make a bow on a fork, but my fork was too small to make the proper size and I was too lazy to get out the bow maker thing I have, so it really shows, LOL But, it is done and I still have about 30 minutes to spare :)  *Hugs*

I am playing with paper again!!!!

Oh my gracious, it has been SO long since I played around with paper, but I broke down tonight and made my dad a birthday card (for today, mind you, LOL). I followed directions from Water Gel Card.  I had been searching through my saved emails and bookmarks for ages to find this site again, but sadly it was lost in my pc someplace in a deep dark unknown folder, until Julie posted a link to an old project and there it was!!!! I was SO tickled to find the directions as I had totally forgotten what she said to do, LOL So, I managed to make one without too many mishaps- Ok, I had quite a few, as my baggie leaked all over the card and I had to trim wet areas off and use clips to keep the card closed to try to get it to stay closed to dry, but it all came together somewhat in the end! The fish is sorta hard to see, as I think I used a hair too much gel in my baggie!  The fishing bobber is actually red and white but I think my flash sorta messed the colors up! *Hugs*
